iPhone/iPad NavalAviator.Net Email Setup Procedures:

Quickstart:

Use IMAP

Incoming Mail Server:

Host Name: mail.navalaviator.net

Username: yourusername@navalaviator.net (or username@tailhook.navalaviator.net as appropriate)

password:(enter your password)

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)

Host Name: mail.navalaviator.net

User Name: (leave blank)

Password: (leave blank)

 

 

 

Detailed Instructions

In this example your name is Roger Ball and your email address is rball@navalaviator.net

 

 

 

1. Click "Settings" Icon on your home screen
2Click Mail, Contacts, Calendars

 

 

 

 

 3.  Under Accounts, click "Add Account"

 

 


4. Click "Other"

 

 

5. Under Mail, Click "Add Mail Account"

 

 

6.  New Account

Name: Enter your name as you would like it to appear emails you send e.g. Roger Ball

Address: username@navalaviator.net 

(if you signed up for a subdomain use that e.g. rball@e2.navalaviator.net)

Password: (your password)

Description: A name for your account.  This will be your mailbox name on the iPhone mail app.

Click Next

 

 

 

7. Click IMAP

IMAP is like iCloud in that it synchronizes your email across devices.  Mail moved to trash, saved to drafts and in your sent folder is available on other devices or on webmail.navalaviator.net

POP just downloads your email from the server.

Incoming Mail Server:

Host Name: mail.navalaviator.net

Username: username@navalaviator.net (or username@tailhook.navalaviator.net as appropriate)

password:(enter your password)

Host Name: mail.navalaviator.net

User Name: (leave blank or username@navalaviator.net)

Password: (leave blank or password)

 

Click Next 

 

 

 

8. You may get this warning.

Click Details, then Accept (trust me!)

Your phone will then contact the server and you will see "Verifying" on the top of the screen.  (you must have an internet connection)

 

 

 

9.  Click "Save" and you're done!

Outgoing Settings (SMTP)

- Use either as primary server if you only use NavalAviator.Net email or secondary server if you have other email accounts.   

 

 

 

 

Since you're using IMAP which synchronizes your folders in the cloud, you may want to keep your drafts, sent items and deleted items on the server.

From the Advanced screen click the respective mailbox behavior, e.g. Drafts, then click the Drafts folder "On the Server" as shown.

Do the same for sent and deleted mailbox.
